Your dashboard explained

Your dashboard is your home base in Mermaid. This article covers what you'll find there and what to do when something looks unexpected.

What your dashboard shows

The center of the dashboard shows your recently updated diagrams and presentations — up to 10 items, sorted with the most recent first. Each card shows a thumbnail and title; hovering reveals Open and Share buttons.

The top bar has buttons to create a new diagram, presentation, or folder, plus a link to the Learning Center.

The left sidebar lets you navigate to:

• Personal — your private projects and diagrams
• Your teams — every team you belong to, expandable to show its projects
• Shared with you — diagrams that have been shared directly with your account
   

Favorites

You can favorite a diagram, project, team, or presentation for quick access. From your dashboard, open the three-dot (⋯) menu on the item and choose to favorite it — your favorited items then stay easy to get back to. Favoriting is done from the dashboard view via the three-dot menu; there isn't a favorite button inside an open diagram yet.

 

What different users see

What appears on your dashboard depends on your plan and role:

• Free users may see usage limit notifications and prompts to upgrade as they approach diagram limits.
• Plus and Premium users have higher diagram limits and AI credits included.
• Enterprise users have unlimited diagrams and AI credits, with no upgrade prompts.
• Organization admins see pending join requests from people requesting to join the organization, and can approve or deny them directly from the dashboard.
• Viewers can open and comment on diagrams they have access to, but can't create or edit.

If your dashboard looks empty

If you're new to Mermaid, you haven't created any diagrams yet — click New diagram in the top bar to start.

If you expect to see shared diagrams, click Shared with you in the sidebar.

If you expect to see your team's diagrams, click your team name in the sidebar to expand it and see its projects.

Common questions

My dashboard only shows a few diagrams. Where are the rest? The dashboard shows the 10 most recently updated items. To find older diagrams, navigate to the specific project or folder using the sidebar.

I hit my diagram limit. What happens? You'll see a usage notification. New diagram creation is blocked until you upgrade or remove unused diagrams. See How do I switch, upgrade, or cancel my plan?

How do I find a diagram someone shared with me? Click Shared with you in the left sidebar.

Can I customize what appears on my dashboard? Yes you can drag and drop the dashboard sections to reorder them into the arrangement that works best for you.
